NASA’s unpiloted Orion spacecraft is racing toward planet Earth to wrap up a 25-day test flight around the moon, heading for a re-entry at 32 times the speed of sound and a fiery-hot plunge through the atmosphere before deploying parachutes and splashing down in the Pacific Ocean west of Baja California at 12:39 p.m. EST (1739 GMT). The Orion capsule is completing NASA’s Artemis 1 mission, a precursor to future astronaut missions on the spacecraft.
