Connecting rod bearings in a car’s engine help the rods better connect the pistons to the crankshaft, so it’s important that the bearings aren’t worn or there’ll be bigger, costlier problems for owners. Hyundai has issued a recall for nearly 129,000 vehicles for this very reason, citing premature wear on connecting rod bearings.
