A bold claim, if I do say so. Speculation surrounding a new Silent Hill has swirled like the mists of the titular town, with reports of a “soft reboot” of the very first game descending early at the start of this year. It apparently welcomed director and writer Keiichiro Toyama, composer Akira Yaomoka and art director Masahiro Ito back to the project, and Ito admitted he had his fingers crossed that this game wouldn’t be cancelled. Many took this to be a reference to Silent Hills, which was subject to bitter disagreements between director Hideo Kojima and Konami, and eventually relegated to the annals of history.
